Blind tasting and its intricity

Opinions and robust discussions are never far away, when people describe their favourite beverage. Many people struggle to describe their feelings, as they do not often have to express such feelings. They might lack the adjectives, experience or perhaps sensory to do so.

It takes years to horn one's blind tasting skills, as it requires practice, practice and more practice. Just like music, in determination of the key the song is being played in; there is a logical formula to guess the wine. Just like music as well, there is an element where there is an oddball note in the beverage.

The same logical formula may be described in different permutations, but they ultimately lead to Rome. Some may observe this in a panel of wine judges, they never disagree with each other feelings. However their final judgement is more often than not, aligned.

Here is a an example of how it is done technically, by Singapore's National Sommlier Competition winner Gerald Lu.
